Japanese students visit Macon high school
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – 8 Japanese students are learning what it’s like to be a typical American teen.
This is part of the International Studies Program at Rutland High School.
These students are living with host families from the school all week. From classes to football games, the students are immersing themselves in American culture.
“A lot of people whine and complain about Macon, but when you see your city through the eyes of another person… you realize what’s great and what’s different about the city,” explained the Director of the International Studies Program, Rebecca Morgan.
Rutland High Students will visit Japan next year to spend a week with the student they hosted.
Morgan adds they also do exchange programs with Macon, France.
