Investigators Waiting on Autopsy Results of Dead Newborn Found Buried in Baldwin County

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is still waiting on autopsy results of a dead newborn baby found buried in the backyard of a Milledgeville home.

The sheriff’s office says it could take as long as two weeks until a final autopsy report will be ready.

Deputies say 23-year-old Brittany Palmer gave birth to the baby alone in a bathtub. Investigators believe it accidentally drowned and then she buried it in her backyard.

Palmer is charged with concealing a death and giving false statements. She’s currently booked in the Baldwin County jail without bond.

The sheriffs office is waiting on the autopsy report before deciding to add any additional charges.
