Investigators Find Macon Man Dead in Monroe County Home

Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators found a Macon man dead in an abandoned home off Zebulon Road Tuesday.  Officials say he was shot and killed in the south Monroe County home.  The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a missing persons report over the weekend for Trevorius Thomas. That investigation led them to two suspects and eventually to Thomas’s body.  20-year-old Stephen Lober from Lizella and 21-year-old Robert Kyle Doughtery from Macon are charged with murder and robbery.

Thomas’s body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is now in control of this investigation, since the body was found just over the county line.
