Investigation Launched into Forsyth Election, Suspected Voter Fraud
A complaint over alleged absentee voting fraud in Forsyth has turned into an investigation. The controversy surrounds the mayor’s race. Incumbent Tye Howard lost by a narrow margin to John Howard II.
Now, The Secretary of State’s office is involved after receiving a complaint on November 17th.
The complaint asks for an investigation into the high number of absentee ballots. It also suspects several of the absentee ballots were forged.
41 NBC spoke with Mayor Tye Howard Wednesday afternoon, he says the growth in the number of absentee ballots doesn’t make sense. According to Howard, the number of absentee ballots rose by about 100 from the 2009 election to this past November’s election.
