Interim Police Chief Supports Officer’s Decision to Handcuff 6 Year Old

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Milledgeville Interim Police Chief Dray Swicord is supporting an officer’s decision to handcuff a six year old child who reportedly acted out at school.

According to this the incident report, early Friday morning a six year old Creekside Elementary student was tearing items off the walls and throwing furniture in her principal’s office.

Principal Diane Popp, told police that the student was sent to her office for pushing two other students,
and throwing items off the teacher’s desk. When police arrived on the scene they tried to calm the student, but she resisted and fought back. That’s when she was cuffed.
