Inmate killed in Washington County, GBI investigating
This incident is still under investigation by the Eastman GBI.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- An inmate is dead after an officer used deadly force to stop his escape on April 23, according to a Facebook post from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
In a press release, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says 31-year-old Jacob Henson was receiving treatment for an injury at the Washington County Regional Medical Center. That injury was a stab wound, sustained the same day during a separate incident at Washington State Prison.
While Henson was being treated, he’s reported to have overpowered and incapacitated a corrections officer with their OC spray. That’s when Henson reportedly started spraying and approaching a second officer.
The second officer fired her weapon at Henson, hitting him. Henson was declared dead at the scene.
Both incidents are still under investigation by the Eastman GBI.
