Inmate injured in fight at Bibb County Law Enforcement Center

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An inmate at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center was hospitalized Tuesday morning after a fight between inmates left one person injured, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened shortly after 9 a.m., when inmates were involved in a fight inside the jail, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies say one inmate suffered puncture wounds during the altercation and was taken to a local medical facility for treatment. After receiving treatment, the inmate was returned to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

The incident remains under investigation, according to the sheriff’s office.
