Inmate found dead at Telfair State Prison, investigation underway

According to the GDC, Deandre Moody died on January 28.

TELFAIR COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An inmate died on Tuesday at the Telfair State Prison, according to a news release from the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC).

According to the GDC, Deandre Moody died on January 28. The body was turned over to the county coroner and will be transported to the GBI crime lab to determine the official cause of death.

Moody was serving 20 years for armed robbery out of Columbia County with a maximum release date of June 2028.
