Indianapolis 500 Champ Wheldon Starts Search For Next Job
INDIANAPOLIS – This year’s Indianapolis 500 winner now must start looking for a job.
Less than nine hours after Dan Wheldon won his second 500 title, the Englishman officially became unemployed.
On Monday morning, he returned to the 2.5-oval for the winner’s traditional interviews and photo ops.
For Wheldon, it also means talking about his uncertain future.
The phone hasn’t been ringing off the hook for a 32-year-old British driver whose last win before Sunday came in 2008. But after a solid month with Bryan Herta’s first-time IndyCar team, Wheldon is hoping a second 500 title will provide a boost to his racing career.
