Increasing clouds today, Rain Friday

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning, everyone! Today, we’re waking up to slightly warmer temperatures ranging from the mid-40 to low 50s. Today we are going to experience partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid to upper 70’s. Friday is shaping up to be a day filled with widespread rain, particularly during the first half of the day. As we progress into the evening and overnight hours, there’s the potential for showers and thunderstorms to develop. This rainy scenario is attributed to a low-pressure system moving across the Peach State, bringing along with it the likelihood of strong winds overnight Friday, persisting into Saturday. These winds may initially vary in direction before settling from the north by Saturday morning. Moving into Saturday, expect mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers likely during the first part of the day. While rainfall should taper off by the evening, cloud cover is expected to persist until the overnight hours, gradually clearing by Sunday morning. Speaking of Sunday, anticipate a delightful change in weather conditions. With the departure of the low-pressure system, Sunday is set to be a pleasant day characterized by sunshine and a gentle breeze. As we transition into next week, keep an eye on Tuesday as there could be another chance of showers on the horizon. Overall, over the next seven days, we could see rainfall totaling between one to three inches. Have a great day!
