Federal agents search Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home amid investigation into alleged immigration fraud
Federal agents searched the home of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on Monday as part of an ongoing criminal investigation that reportedly involves allegations of immigration fraud.

(NBC)- Federal agents searched the home of Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar on Monday as part of an ongoing criminal investigation that reportedly involves allegations of immigration fraud.
The Department of Justice described the search as “part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.”
A source familiar with the investigation told NBC News that it involves alleged immigration fraud and includes whistleblowers, documents and witness testimony gathered during a yearslong investigation.
Homeland Security agents were spotted near Omar’s home around 4:30 a.m.
Omar, a U.S. citizen who came to the United States from Somalia as a child, denied any wrongdoing and accused the Trump administration of using federal law enforcement to target political opponents.
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement,” Omar wrote on X.
Her office also released a statement Monday saying, “The Congresswoman has done nothing wrong.”
President Donald Trump continued criticizing Omar amid the investigation.
“I understand they’re looking at her very carefully. I’ve always found her to be totally crooked personally, but that has nothing to do with me,” Trump said.
Vice President JD Vance previously accused Omar of immigration fraud in March, saying the administration believed she had committed the offense.
Earlier this year, Omar expressed concerns about her personal safety, saying threats against her had increased following Trump’s return to office. One neighbor, Sharon Jackson, defended the congresswoman following Monday’s search.
“But I think because she stands up for her rights and tries to help the people, she’s being attacked,” Jackson said.
The specific allegations outlined in the search warrant remain under seal. No charges against Omar were identified in the report.
