Identity of Body Confirmed; Murder Suspect in Custody

GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Jones County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body found at home in the River North Community to be that of Douglas Coker.

Sheriff Butch Reece says his deputies have Pamela Moss in custody and they have charged her with Coker’s murder.

Coker had been missing from Henry County since March 13.  Authorities found Coker’s body under the back porch at Moss’s home Sunday night.

Officials found the Jones County woman in a hospital in Jesup Tuesday, after taking several pills.

Sheriff Reece says Moss and Coker had some sort of business relationship.

According to the Department of Corrections, Pamela Moss served nearly 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.  The Rome News-Tribune reported in 1997 that Frye plead guilty to the poisoning death of her mother in an attempt to collect $500,000 in insurance money.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this case.  We’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest information.
