Macon could get new Hyatt Studios hotel under proposed development plans
Plans call for a 7-story, 128-room hotel with a streamlined design

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A new hotel development could expand lodging options in Macon, as Hyatt Studios has submitted plans to build a seven-story, 128-room hotel at 1512 Bass Road.
New hotel proposed for growing North Macon corridor
According to the application, the proposed hotel would total about 72,000 square feet and include a main lobby, administrative offices, elevators, laundry facilities, and other support spaces.
The design does not include a restaurant, bar, or swimming pool. According to the plans, the streamlined approach is intended to reduce operating costs and help keep room rates competitive.
The proposal also includes a parking lot with 121 spaces.
Developers had previously proposed a smaller hotel for the same parcel. Plans tied to a conditional use permit for Huey Magoo’s outlined an 11,112-square-foot development with 90 guest units and 110 parking spaces.
P&Z approved the plans in Monday’s meeting.
The Macon Hyatt Studios hotel project is expected to create jobs and support surrounding businesses.
