Hunter Biden shares update on Joe Biden’s cancer battle

The 83-year-old former president was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in May.

(NBC)- Hunter Biden is sharing a sobering update on former President Joe Biden’s battle with prostate cancer, saying the disease has spread further into his bones and is causing significant pain.

“The cancer has spread, it’s metastasized into his bones and further. It’s very painful,” Hunter Biden said.

The 83-year-old former president was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in May. His latest public appearance came at the opening of the Obama Presidential Center.

Hunter Biden said the disease has been debilitating for his father, but the former president remains active.

“It’s very debilitating in many respects, but he’s still out there, he’s still doing his thing,” he said.

Former first lady Jill Biden previously told NBC News in June that her husband’s cancer had spread to his bones and that he would live with the disease for the rest of his life.

Medical experts say the latest information raises concerns about Biden’s prognosis, although it remains unclear where else the cancer may have spread.

Hunter Biden also addressed questions surrounding his father’s decision to seek reelection in 2024 before ultimately dropping out of the race. He rejected suggestions that the Biden family enabled the former president to continue his campaign, saying his father made his own decisions.
