Blue Bird in Fort Valley is expanding, bringing hundreds of jobs

Blue Bird will manufacture electric school buses.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Hundreds of jobs are coming to Fort Valley. Georgia U.S Senators Reverent Warnock and John Ossoff helped push for Blue Bird, in Fort Valley, to receive an $80 million federal grant for state-of-the-art electric school bus manufacturing facility.

The new facility will create 428 manufacturing jobs and 250 construction jobs. Funding came from the Inflation Reduction Act. This announcement is part of a larger $1.7 billion nationwide investment to convert 11 at-risk auto facilities into hubs for clean energy manufacturing.
