Hundreds Attend 25th FVSU Scholarship Lunch
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Monday hundreds celebrated President’s Day at Fort Valley State University at the 25th annual Black History Month Scholarship Luncheon.
Attorney and motivational speaker, Wille Gary, was the keynote speaker.
This is one of the universitie’s largest fundraising events. The money raised goes towards student scholarships.
“The students that are receiving awards today have the highest GPA in their college. We have four colleges here on campus and they have the highest average and actually one of them is Mr. FVSU. And so our students are well-rounded,” said Leitra Young Maxwell, Dir. Of the FVSU Foundation.
The goal is to raise $200,000 for the scholarship fund by June 30. So far Fort Valley State University has raised $148,000. For information about donating to the fund, head to www.FVSU.edu or you can mail a check to :
