Huge Crowd At Annual Special Olympics in Monroe County

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Nearly 100 people came out this year to test out their inner competitor at the annual Monroe County Special Olympics.

Athlete’s ranged from Pre-K through Grade 12. There were eight different events this year. Four were races, and four involved skills used in track and field.

Special needs teacher Amber Ridley says the annual Special Olympics gives kids in a little dose of healthy competition.
