Macon-Bibb offers $2.8M in grants for homeless assistance through American Rescue Plan

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –The Macon-Bibb County Economic and Community Development Department hosted a Home and Rescue Program funding opportunity workshop Wednesday morning.
Agencies that assist people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless attended the event to learn about the grant.
Funding for the grant is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through Congress as part of the American Rescue Plan.
Wanzina Jackson, director of the Macon-Bibb County Economic and Community Development Department, said about $2.8 million is available through the program.
The deadline to apply is May 30.
