How to stick to New Year’s resolutions, according to Atrium Health Navicent
Lisa Seneker, manager of health promotion services at Atrium, sat down with 41NBC to share tips on setting realistic goals and staying consistent long after the new year begins.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Lisa Seneker, manager of health promotion services at Atrium, sat down with 41NBC to share tips on setting realistic goals and staying consistent long after the new year begins.
Seneker says resolutions don’t have to wait for January first — and they don’t have to be extreme. Instead of trying to change everything at once, she encourages people to start small and build gradually.
One strategy she recommends is called “habit stacking,” which means attaching a new goal to an existing daily routine. Seneker says consistency matters more than motivation, explaining that long-term success comes from showing up regularly, even on days when motivation is low.
She also suggests finding an accountability partner to help stay on track and maintain momentum.
For those looking for structured support, the Wellness Center at Atrium Health Navicent offers a variety of fitness and wellness resources, including cycling classes, personal training, a swimming pool, and an indoor walking track. Every membership includes two free personal training sessions.
