How do YOU say Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — You may have seen the video of a Welsh meteorologist nailing a 58-letter town in Wales. Without a pause, “Just up the road from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, the temperature got to 21 Celsius.”
Really makes your head spin.
In case you’re wondering, this is a real town: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch holds the record for the longest named town in Europe. Together, the name means “St. Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool of Llantysilio of the red cave.”
If it sounds like a mouthful, the catchy beat of this song proclaims if you can sing it, you can say it.
Daybreak meteorologist Marco La Manno and a few folks walking by Mercer University took a stab at this endless name.
