Houston Healthcare welcomes TV commentator in honor of breast cancer awareness
As well as her appearances on the small screen, Renfroe is also a comedian and author who became a Youtube sensation several years ago after her song about what children say to their mothers, to the tune of the William Tell Overture, went viral.
She was in Warner Robins to speak to and entertain a crowd of breast cancer survivors and guests alike, “In honor of breast cancer awareness month,” Renfroe said, “Houston Healthcare has put together a great event for women to come and laugh and enjoy themselves, and to become more aware of the treatment options and detection for breast cancer.”
Renfroe herself said that she has been affected by the disease, having lost her grandmother when she was 19-years-old, and believes the culture of awareness has come a long way in the decades since.
“She was a part of a generation… if they found a lump, they didn’t go do anything about it,” Renfroe said, “Now we know, thanks to these great events, that we need early detection and that’s the way we can win the battle against breast cancer.”
This was the 20th year for the Pink Picnic Luncheon.
