WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Emory Healthcare and Houston Healthcare have finalized a partnership aimed at expanding access to high-quality health care services across Middle Georgia.

“The power of a larger health system because of the complexity of health care and we believe together we can help service the community together. We want to bring the best quality health care to this region, and beyond. To the southern half of Georgia, and this partnership will allow us to build on that,” Emory Healthcare CEO Dr. Joon Lee said.  

Lee explains why the merger is important.

“We believe that with a partnership we can better deliver the care,” Lee said. “That we can enhance the services here, we can increase that complexity of care, that’s provided in this region. Not just for Houston County, but even beyond.”

Kevin Splaine, the CEO of Emory in Warner Robins and Perry, says a good partnership is important to keep up with innovation and technology today.

“And we’re really looking forward to being that partner, bring investments to helping recruit critical specialist and build programs, to be able to create that region of health care,” he said.

Splaine called Houston County a wonderful, growing community.

There is influence of the Robins Air Force Base,” he said. “And it’s our hope to be able to bring the Emory standard, not just here but the entire region.”

Emory Healthcare will also be providing services with the Perry Houston Healthcare Hospital.
