Houston County Third Graders Soon To Be Future Entrepreneurs

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Houston County third graders transformed the Cary W. Martin Conference Center into a marketplace for selling and buying services and goods on Thursday.

These students have been learning economic concepts since October and are now using that knowledge to create their own unique products and services for customers to purchase. Parents, administrators and guests were all able to participate in this event and interact with the future business people of Middle Georgia.

“As these students progress through our educational system and become citizens in this community, we want them to realize they’re going to be our future business people,” Christie Lehman, the K-5 social studies coordinator for the Houston County School District said.

This marketplace event started on Wednesday and will continue Friday at 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
