Houston County man sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to murdering wife

According to the news release, Fisher’s plea to felony murder stems from the shooting death of his wife, and the two counts of aggravated assault were predicated upon the assaults of two other individuals who were caught in the crossfire.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Houston County man pled guilty to a 2022 murder on Monday, according to Houston County District Attorney Eric Edwards.

32-year-old Alex Scot Fisher pled guilty on March 3, 2025 to felony murder and two counts of aggravated assault. Fisher was sentenced to serve life in prison with the possibility of parole. Fisher was scheduled to begin a jury trial on the morning of March 3 before deciding to plead guilty.

According to the news release, Fisher’s plea to felony murder stems from the shooting death of his wife, and the two counts of aggravated assault were predicated upon the assaults of two other individuals who were caught in the crossfire. The Fishers had been married six years and had four children together.

The murder of Fisher’s wife happened on December 15, 2022, at Deloris Toliver Park in Warner Robins.

According to the DA’s office, Fisher suspected that his wife was cheating on him prior to the fatal shooting. Earlier in the day, Fisher’s wife who drove for a food delivery service, would not respond to his calls or texts. Fisher left his four young kids at home and went out to confront his wife about her potential infidelity.

Fisher spotted his wife’s car at a Circle K in Byron and followed the vehicle into Warner Robins. The DA’S office states that Fisher rammed his truck into his wife’s vehicle multiple times. As Fisher rammed the vehicle near Deloris Toliver Park, the vehicle lost control and left the roadway, coming to a rest on the grass at the park.

According to the DA’s office, Fisher parked his own truck on the road, exited with a handgun, and proceeded to confront his wife and the other occupants of the vehicle. Fisher fired his gun multiple times and one of the bullets struck his wife in the chest.

The victim was able to make a 911 call for help and witnesses who saw the vehicle chase also called 911.

Fisher was taken into custody when law enforcement arrived at the park. His wife was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. Fisher was later interviewed and admitted to shooting his wife.

District Attorney Eric Edwards released the following statement:

“This case is a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence. Alex Fisher’s actions robbed four young children of their mother and put innocent lives in danger. No amount of anger or suspicion justifies this kind of violence, and our office remains committed to holding offenders accountable. I want to thank Sgt. Delgiorno and the Warner Robins Police Department for their thorough investigation, as well as ADA Justin Duane and our prosecution team for their hard work in bringing this case to justice. Our thoughts are with the the victim’s family, especially her children, as they work to heal from this unimaginable loss.”

ADA Justin Duane released the following statement:

“Unfortunately, another woman suffered another domestic violence tragedy. People have got to learn to control themselves. Mr. Fisher left his house looking to do harm and that’s exactly what he did. Regardless of her actions, those four young kids should still have their mother. I pray that they can find some normalcy in their lives. Thank you to Sgt. Tyler Delgiorno and the rest of WRPD for their work on this case.”
