Houston County EMA: Stay Off Roads Unless Absolutely Necessary

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) –  Between one and two inches of snow fell overnight Tuesday in the International City, preceded by hours of rain and sleet.

Temperatures fell into the high teens overnight, forming an icy coating on roadways all over middle Georgia.

Sgt. Sheila Hayes with Houston Couny EMA says a few cars slid off roads, but there were no major accidents or injuries.  Despite the icy conditions, no roads were closed in Houston County early Wednesday morning.

Hayes advises people to stay off roads unless absolutely necessary.

Robins Air Force Base announced early Wednesday all non-mission essential personnel are not to report to work.

Temperatures in Warner Robins are expected to remain below freezing until sometime after noon.
