Houston County deputy accused of sexual misconduct while on duty
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Houston County Sheriff’s patrol deputy turned himself into the sheriff’s office on Friday.
Christopher Sawyer walked into the sheriff’s office and surrendered around 9 a.m., after being accused of contacting a woman for sexual favors while he was on duty.
Houston County Sheriff Cullen Talton requested the GBI investigation.
“She actually made a report to the Warner Robins Police Department in another incident, the information was relayed to us, that some statements had been made concerning allegations against Deputy Sawyer,” Holland said.

The 34-year-old is charged with solicitation of sodomy and violation of oath of office according to Capt. Jon Holland.
“We take our position as deputy sheriffs very seriously and we all have a lot of honor in what we do, when these kinds of things happen, it has a negative impact on all of us,” Houston County Sheriff’s Captain Jon Holland says.
Houston County Sheriff Cullen Talton requested the GBI investigation.
“She actually made a report to the Warner Robins Police Department in another incident, the information was relayed to us, that some statements had been made concerning allegations against Deputy Sawyer,” Holland said.
The release went on to say Sawyer confessed to the illicit activity while patrolling the county after a GBI investigation confirmed the criminal conduct.
He made his first appearance in court Friday before a magistrate court judge
Sawyer was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
