Houston County Bears Are Battling It Out Against Each Other On The Gridiron In Some Exciting Spring Football Action

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Houston County Bears took the field at Freedom Field on Friday night for their annual Black and White spring scrimmage, giving fans an early glimpse of what to expect this fall.

Head coach Jeremy Edwards, entering his fourth season leading the program, is working to build on an 8-5 campaign that included two playoff victories. The Bears scored over 130 points in those postseason games, largely behind the efforts of now-Memphis quarterback A.J. Hill and current Mississippi State wide receiver Isaiah Mitchell.

With both stars having moved on to the collegiate level, the Bears are turning the page and looking to reload on offense. Fortunately, there’s no shortage of talent on either side of the ball.

Defensively, Georgia commit Jordan Smith anchors the secondary at safety, while senior wide receiver Kavon Conciauro is expected to be a key playmaker. After transferring at the start of last season, Conciauro still posted all-region numbers and will now enter the fall with a full season in the system.

The scrimmage offered a competitive but controlled environment for the Bears to evaluate depth and develop chemistry ahead of summer workouts and fall camp.

The season kicks off Friday, August 15.
