Houston County B.O.E. to offer free computer classes

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Houston County Board of Education will offer it’s annual free adult computer classes soon. 

Director of Career, Technical and Agricultural Education Dr. Barbara Wall says the community service project will help 56 participants at each the board’s seven training locations. 

According to a news release, the classes are taught by career tech employees, and volunteers. 

“We’re in a world that exists on computers, and without knowledge of computers, and how to use them one may feel lost and not a part of society,” says Wall.

Adults of all ages are encouraged to come; however, Wall adds volunteers tend to see more seniors participate in the course. 

“They’ll say things like my children gave me a computer, and I’ve got to learn what to do with it,” says Wall.

The training courses are offered from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday evenings at several locations:
