Houston County 8-year-old dies after drive-by shooting

An 8-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the head in a drive-by shooting Saturday night.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An 8-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the head in a drive-by shooting Saturday night.

It happened around 9:15 in the 200 block of Virginia Dare Drive.

Police say a vehicle drove through the area and fired shots at a house and vehicle.

Several children, including 8-year-old Jermarrion Cherry, were inside the vehicle.

Cherry was shot once in the head and taken to an Atlanta hospital for treatment. He was pronounced dead Monday morning.
