Hooked on Science: Foam Monster

(41NBC/WMGT) — Science Guy Jason Lindsey is creating what he calls a foam monster!

Lindsey has a cup with two liquids in it, as he mixes them together a chemical reaction takes place.

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space, and matter primarily exists in three forms: solid, liquid and gas. This is important to know because as the two liquids mix together they start to change from leaving their liquid state and becoming a solid. The transformation is possible thanks to a chemical reaction, as the liquid continues to solidify it starts to foam up and out of the cup! As it changes into it’s final foamy form the reaction gives off a lot of heat as a byproduct of the reaction until it finishes in a tall foamtastic form!
