Hollywood Minute: ‘Squid Game’ breaks records, civics gets a reboot, Phil Collins marks milestone

Netflix’s global juggernaut Squid Game is ending on a high note.

(CNN)- Netflix’s global juggernaut Squid Game is ending on a high note. The streaming giant announced that the third and final season racked up a record-breaking 60.1 million views within its first three days, debuting at number one in all 93 countries where Netflix features a Top 10 list.

Meanwhile, civic education is getting a modern makeover. Author Ben Sheehan is blending pop culture and political literacy in a new digital series, Civics Made Easy. The series kicked off with an episode on the Electoral College, now available on PBS.org, the PBS app, and PBS’s YouTube channel. Future episodes will tackle topics like filibusters, tax spending, and political fundraising, with new installments dropping every other Thursday through the summer and fall.

In music news, Phil Collins fans have reason to celebrate. The iconic artist’s 1985 chart-topping album No Jacket Required is being reissued in honor of its 40th anniversary. Two new formats will be released on September 12th: a four-LP vinyl box set featuring live and rare tracks, plus new liner notes and photos, and a Blu-ray audio disc complete with Dolby surround sound and stereo mixes.
