(CNN) -Production is officially underway on Star Wars: Starfighter, with Ryan Gosling leading the cast. Lucasfilm has also announced an impressive supporting lineup, including Matt Smith (Doctor Who, The Crown), Mia Goth (Suspiria, the X trilogy), Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge, Mufasa: The Lion King), and six-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams. The film is slated to hit theaters in May 2027.
Meanwhile, another sci-fi project is generating buzz with its newly released trailer. Bugonia, a dark sci-fi comedy directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, stars Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons. The film follows two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a powerful CEO, convinced she is an alien intent on destroying Earth.
Inspired by the South Korean cult classic Save the Green Planet, Bugonia opens in limited release on October 24 before expanding nationwide on October 31.
