(CNN)- Fans of New Kids on the Block are celebrating in full force today, April 24th—officially recognized as “New Kids on the Block Day.” And the iconic boy band is giving their loyal “Blockheads” plenty to get excited about.
Their hit 1990 album, Step by Step, is being re-released in honor of its 35th anniversary. Meanwhile, the group is preparing to launch their brand-new Las Vegas residency, titled “The Right Stuff,” at Dolby Live at Park MGM starting June 20th.
“We just want to elevate the show and make it a little more glamorous, a little more glitzy, a little more Vegas,” the group shared. “But also stay true to who we are as entertainers. So, it’s been a fun process putting the show together.”
Elsewhere in entertainment, fans are getting an intimate look into the life of a beloved pop culture figure. The new documentary “Pee-wee as Himself” promises to reveal sides of Paul Reubens, creator of the quirky and beloved Pee-wee Herman character, that have never been seen before. The film features archival footage, personal photographs, and candid interviews—some recorded shortly before Reubens’ death in 2023. The documentary will explore his artistic legacy and shed light on his often-private personal life. “Death is just so final. To be able to get your message in at the last minute is incredible,” Reubens says in the film. “Pee-wee as Himself” premieres May 23rd on Max.
