(CNN)- Disney’s Moana 2 continues to sail smoothly, both in theaters and on streaming. After surpassing $1 billion at the global box office, the animated sequel has now reached more than 27 million views in its first five days on Disney+. Filmmakers behind Moana 2 are celebrating the film’s success, especially its cultural significance. “We go on these long emotional journeys to make this, and you really don’t know how people will react to it,” one creator shared. “For me, especially, with part of my cultural heritage coming from Samoa, to be with people from the community we are celebrating and seeing their positive reaction is absolutely incredible.”

A new documentary is shining a light on the hidden dangers of the aquarium trade. Aquariums: The Dark Hobby explores the impact of the tropical fish industry, revealing that at any given time, 27 million reef fish are in the aquarium supply chain. The film notes that a high percentage of tropical fish die within a year of being placed in home aquariums, driving an ongoing demand to collect more from the ocean. The documentary, produced by Martin Sheen, emphasizes the critical role these fish play in maintaining the health of coral reefs and warns of the dangers posed by the aquarium trade. Aquariums: The Dark Hobby debuts Tuesday on digital platforms.
