(CNN)- Miley Cyrus revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live that she was hospitalized in November following a shoot for her upcoming fantasy pop opera Something Beautiful. The singer said she developed a “brutal infection” in her kneecap after filming herself rolling around on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Despite the setback, the project is moving forward. Something Beautiful will premiere in U.S. theaters on June 12, and the accompanying album drops this Friday, May 30.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, another cinematic love letter is making waves. Nouvelle Vague—named after the influential French New Wave movement— is the latest film from director Richard Linklater. The movie portrays the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s classic Breathless, and it does so in the iconic, boundary-pushing style of the original.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, where it reportedly received an 11-minute standing ovation, according to Deadline. Netflix quickly snapped up distribution rights for $4 million—the highest amount a U.S. outlet has ever paid for a French-language film.
