Hollywood Minute: Lady Gaga nears EGOT status, Sheryl Lee Ralph honored

Lady Gaga is one step closer to joining the exclusive EGOT club.

(CNN)-Lady Gaga is one step closer to joining the exclusive EGOT club. The Oscar and 14-time Grammy winner has just added a Sports Emmy to her collection, earning the honor for her powerful Super Bowl performance of “Hold My Hand.” With an Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar under her belt, Gaga now needs only a Tony to achieve EGOT status—raising speculation about a possible Broadway debut.

Meanwhile, Sheryl Lee Ralph is continuing her award-winning streak. The Emmy and SAG Award-winning actress will receive the Sidney Poitier Icon Tribute at the second annual Gotham Television Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for June 2 in New York.

In another headline, legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese is stepping in front of the camera for a change. Apple TV+ has announced Mister Scorsese, a five-part documentary series offering an intimate portrait of the Oscar-winning director. The series will feature never-before-seen footage from Scorsese’s personal archives, along with interviews from longtime collaborators including Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, and Steven Spielberg. Acclaimed filmmaker Rebecca Miller will direct and executive produce the project. A release date has not yet been announced.
