The screen icon was recognized at this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys for her voice-over performance on Bridgerton. “It’s all about collaboration, and we got on wonderfully,” Andrews said of the project.
The weekend’s biggest winner was The Studio, a Hollywood satire that entered as this year’s most-nominated comedy series. The show walked away with nine trophies, including awards for cinematography and production design. The main Emmy Awards ceremony will be held Sunday, September 14.
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, veteran filmmaker Jim Jarmusch took home the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. His three-part feature Father Mother Sister Brother earned the festival’s top prize and is set to debut in U.S. theaters on December 24.
Also making headlines, HBO Max will debut the two-part documentary Seen and Heard: The History of Black Television on Tuesday, September 9. The series explores the challenges Black artists and creators have faced in Hollywood, while celebrating how their storytelling has shaped television and culture across generations.
