(CNN)- Actor Jeremy Renner is opening up about his decision not to return for a second season of the Disney+ series Hawkeye. In a recent appearance on the High Performance podcast, Renner said he was offered only half of his original salary for the follow-up season. “I’m like, I’m sorry, why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over?” Renner said, referencing his near-fatal snowplow accident in early 2023, which required months of recovery. While Renner was candid about the offer, The Hollywood Reporter noted a Disney insider disputed his claim but did not provide additional details.
Meanwhile, PBS is set to premiere a groundbreaking new two-part NOVA special titled Ultimate Crash Test. The series documents a first-of-its-kind experiment designed to understand multi-vehicle highway pile-ups. Part one, titled Countdown, captures the experiment itself, while part two, Impact, dives into the forensic analysis—searching for clues that could improve driver behavior and car safety design. NOVA: Ultimate Crash Test premieres Wednesday, May 7, and will be available on PBS, PBS.org, the PBS app, and YouTube.
