Jason Momoa is stepping into the ring for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic video-game franchise Street Fighter.

(CNN)- Jason Momoa is stepping into the ring for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic video-game franchise Street Fighter. The actor will portray the fan-favorite character Blanka.
He’ll be joined by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, who has been cast as Balrog, and David Dastmalchian, set to play the villain M. Bison. The project is the first film in a new deal between Legendary Pictures and video-game developer Capcom. Street Fighter is slated to hit IMAX and other theaters on October 16, 2026.
Meanwhile, another film is debuting on the big screen. Tina tells the story of a grieving mother who draws on her Samoan heritage to teach choir at an elite, mostly white private school in New Zealand. Through music, she and her students defy expectations, forge connections, and discover the power of encouragement and community.
Tina opens in theaters today.
