The new documentary Match in a Haystack follows an all-female Ukrainian dance company as they prepare their first performance since the start of the Russian invasion. A voice from the film reflects on the journey: “We went outside Kyiv for the first time. It was like going to another planet. And we found an abandoned stage.”
Iconic ballerina Misty Copeland serves as executive producer on the film, which premieres July 24 in New York. Screenings will follow in Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver, and Washington D.C. in August, with a video-on-demand release scheduled for fall.
