(CNN)- Colin Farrell is taking on high stakes in his latest role. The actor stars as a gambling addict desperate to pay off his casino debts in Ballad of a Small Player. The psychological thriller, which also features Tilda Swinton, will debut in theaters and on Netflix this October.

Meanwhile, Cynthia Erivo is adding another honor to her already impressive career. The Oscar-nominated star of Wicked will receive the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film. Erivo, who already holds a Tony, Grammy, and Emmy, will be celebrated at the festival in December.

A modern classic is returning to the big screen. Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan is heading to IMAX theaters for the first time in celebration of its 15th anniversary. Fans can see Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning performance back in theaters nationwide on August 21 and 24.
