(CNN)- Adam Sandler is adding another honor to his long list of career achievements.

The actor and comedian, known for films like Happy Gilmore and Uncut Gems, will receive the Career Achievement Award at AARP’s Movies for Grownups Awards. Sandler will be honored at the annual ceremony on January 10th in Beverly Hills, recognizing more than three decades of success in Hollywood.

“I wanted to work hard and make ‘em happy at home, and that was — that’s all I wanted out of it,” Sandler said of his career.

Meanwhile, the Gotham Awards announced that Kate Hudson and Hugh Jackman will receive the inaugural Gotham Musical Tribute for their work in Song Sung Blue, a film inspired by the music of Neil Diamond. The 35th annual Gotham Film Awards will take place December 1st in New York City, with the film set to open in theaters on December 25th.

And at this year’s Media Access Awards, Marlee Matlin was honored with the inaugural Icon Award for her decades of work championing disability inclusion in entertainment.

Her longtime friend, Henry Winkler, presented the award during the ceremony, which celebrates representation both on-screen and behind the camera.

The 2025 Media Access Awards with Easterseals premieres tonight on the PBS app, and will air on PBS stations nationwide November 15th.
