Hollywood Minute: A vampire reboot, a beloved witch returns

Ryan Keira Armstrong has landed the lead in Hulu’s highly anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot.

(CNN)- Ryan Keira Armstrong is trading fire for fangs. The rising star, best known for her role in Firestarter, has landed the lead in Hulu’s highly anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. “There’s so many scenes where I was kind of nervous about doing, because I have to embody this kind of beast unlocked inside of me,” Armstrong said of the transformation.

Fans of the original series will have something to sink their teeth into—Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning as executive producer and will reprise her iconic role as Buffy Summers.

 Studio Ghibli fans can take flight again as Kiki’s Delivery Service returns to the big screen. The beloved 1989 animated film from Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki kicks off Fathom Entertainment’s 2025 “Studio Ghibli Fest.” Screenings run May 17th through the 21st, with showtimes and locations available at Fathom-Entertainment.com.
