Hollywood Mintue: SpongeBob stamps, Michael B. Jordan stars in new film

The U.S. Postal Service is releasing four new “Forever” stamps featuring SpongeBob and the Bikini Bottom gang.

(CNN)- The U.S. Postal Service is releasing four new “Forever” stamps featuring SpongeBob and the beloved Bikini Bottom gang. The stamps are set to be officially unveiled on August 1st in New York, giving fans a collectible that’s just as fun as the show itself.

In movie news, Michael B. Jordan is reimagining the classic Thomas Crown Affair — and he’s bringing a familiar face along. Danai Gurira, known for her roles in Black Panther and The Walking Dead, is set to star in the romantic heist thriller. Jordan will not only star in the film but also direct and produce. The project is already generating buzz, with Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh and nominee Lily Gladstone also joining the cast.

Meanwhile, cult classic This Is Spinal Tap made a major comeback over the weekend. The 41st anniversary re-release of the iconic rock mockumentary brought in more than $1 million at the box office, despite limited showtimes.

The film’s renewed popularity has prompted distributors to add more showings on July 8th, 9th, and 10th. And fans have even more to look forward to — a long-awaited sequel, Spinal Tap Two: The End Continues, is set to hit theaters September 12th.
