Hinesville man sentenced for aggravated identity theft
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Honorable C. Ashley Royal, Chief United States District Judge, sentenced Master Dalas Brisco to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated identity theft.
According to the U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia, Michael J. Moore, the investigation into Brisco’s case showed Brisco diverted a victim’s mail from California to his Post Office Boxes in Georgia. Brisco took over multiple bank accounts taking funds from them by giving a fraudulent court order to the bank.
Moore said Briston also presented a fraudulent letter from the victim’s physician to the Social Security Administration to make himself the representative payee for the victim’s Social Security benefits. Brisco admitted the total intended loss to the victim was more than 35-thousand dollars.
