HIGHLIGHTS: West Laurens goes 11 innings to win Region Championship

The West Laurens Raiders (17-8, 11-0) defeat the Perry Panthers (19-5, 9-2) with seven unanswered runs to win the GHSA AAAA Area Two Region Championship 7-6 in 11 innings

DEXTER, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The West Laurens Raiders (17-8, 11-0) defeat the Perry Panthers (19-5, 9-2) with seven unanswered runs to win the GHSA AAAA Area Two Region Championship 7-6 in 11 innings.

In a game that had everything, this game exceeded expectations on all levels.

Perry went up 5-0 in the Top 1st after a grand slam from Kam Vandersee. He finished with four RBIs on the day.

However, after Vandersee made the game 6-0 in the Top 3rd, West Laurens turned it around.

The Raiders scored three in the bottom third, two runs in the bottom fourth, and one run in the bottom fifth to tie the game at six a piece.

After six scoreless innings, the Raiders emerged victorious with a run in the Bottom 11th to win the game 7-6 and the Region Championship to go with it.

These two meet again in Perry on Wednesday.
