HIGHLIGHTS: Stratford Wins GIAA AAAA Boys Soccer State Championship

The Stratford Eagles Boys Soccer team (17-0-1) defeated the St. Anne Pacelli Vikings (12-6) at home 3-0 to win the first state championship since 2013

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – Under the lights at Stratford Academy, the 17-0-1 Eagles won their first GIAA AAAA State Championship since 2013 over the 12-6 St. Anne Pacelli Vikings by a final score of 3-0.

Senior Captain Forward Gavin Aguirre scored the first goal off a missed shot and deflection in front of the goal to give the Eagles the first score of the game in the 36th minute.

Then one minute into the second half, Aguirre scores his second goal of the night to give Stratford a 2-0 lead with 39 minutes left to go.

The Eagles score the final dagger in the 73rd minute when Aguirre passes one back to Jude Burgess for a beautiful goal off the crossbar to make the game 3-0 and final.

Stratford finishes the season without a single loss en route to the GIAA AAAA State Title.
