The Southwest Patriots defeated the Westside Seminoles 21-20 in a scrimmage at Ed Defore Sports Complex Thursday night

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Southwest Patriots defeated the Westside Seminoles 21-20 in a scrimmage at Ed Defore Sports Complex Thursday night. Southwest took an early 6-0 lead when Quarterback Tyshea Cauley threw a slant route to Wide Receiver Lavaris Harris, but the ball was thrown too high. The ball tipped off Harris’ fingers and landed in the hands of Wide Receiver Kyle Jefferson who won the footrace to the endzone on the 80 yard scoring play for the first touchdown of the game.
Southwest kicks off their season opener against Macon County in the Gridiron Classic at FVSU next Friday at 5 p.m.
Westside opens their season at the Gridiron Classic as well against Howard next Saturday at 3 p.m.
