HIGHLIGHTS: Mount De Sales scores game winning run over Stratford…in the first inning
The Cavaliers use pitching and defense to hold on for the win 1-0 at home Tuesday against Stratford Academy

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Mount De Sales Cavaliers (8-2-1) beat the Stratford Academy Eagles (5-4) in GIAA AAAA/AAA District Six baseball 1-0 on Tuesday.
It was a close game with great pitching and even better defense throughout.
In the bottom of the first inning, Bricen Smith hit a slow bouncing grounder to center field and beat the throw to first.
Then, the next batter, Landen Moore missed the swing, but the catcher could not handle it, so Smith decided to steal third, and the throw to third base was off target, so Smith ran home for the first, and what would ultimately be, the only score of the game.
These two teams will face each other again at Stratford Academy on Thursday at 6 p.m.
