MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – The Mercer Bears (19-22) were defeated by the Georgia Southern Eagles (22-18) by a score of 4-1 Wednesday night at Sikes Field.
The Eagles put up a home run to start in the top second, but Mercer responded with an RBI double to left center field from Alyssa Woods to bring home Janessa Plummer and tie things up at one a piece.
However, Georgia Southern scored three runs in the top fifth to take the lead and win the game by a final score of 4-2.
The Bears will head to Tennessee Saturday for a three game weekend SOCON series with Chattanooga.
